  • Voiced. This sound is made with your vocal cords.
  • The corners of your lips are pulled back (like when you smile).
  • The edges of the middle part of your tongue rise up to rest against the inside of your upper teeth.
  • A passage down the center of your tongue allows the air to flow out of your mouth and make the sound.
  • The tip of your tongue is down and lightly touches your lower front teeth.
  • This sound will almost always blend into the vowel sound that comes after it.
